Full Descriptions

Masterclass 1. Vascular lesions and laser hair removal

Useful as a refresher or for those looking to gain new skills, an outline of the basic principles of laser hair removal and the treatment of vascular lesions will be presented. With so many devices in the market place, what are the key features to look for?  What can the client expect from a course of laser hair removal? What can possibly go wrong? Telangiectasia (thread veins) and spider naevi (angioma) usually respond well to laser and IPL. Also what about more challenging vascular conditions, such as venous lakes, hereditary haemorrhagic telangiectasia and leg veins? We will discuss treatment options.

Masterclass 4. Dermatology & skin lesions

Learn about the base. Most aesthetic laser applications are derived from basic dermatologic laser techniques such as imaging, photodynamic therapy, selective photothermolysis, selective photocoagulation, vaporization and ablation. Get an overview and practical insight of biophotonic approaches in treatment of dermatologic diseases and learn to choose the right treatment for skin pathologies in this masterclass.

Masterclass 5. LED application in clinics

Get a quick start up to learn how to use LED and have a new therapeutic alternative for you daily practice. Efficiently treat different types of hair loss, acne, accelerate wound healing In acute and chronic wounds. Learn about LED mechanisms on cell behavior. Photobiomodulation is a safe treatment, easy to use and is very efficient.

Masterclass 6. Ablative laser skin resurfacing including fractional devices

Ablative laser resurfacing has been the gold standard  tool for post acne scarring and facial rejuvenation. The post treatment down time, scaring, erythema and pigmentary problems have led to diminishing use of the traditional ablative devices, which is now superseded by fractional ablative and non-ablative devices. The speakers will discuss their experience of the use of traditional ablative  lasers in the treatment of several dermatological conditions for which they remains  time tested and one of the most effective treatments. This talk should serve as a gentle reminder to the audience of the versatility of the ablative lasers and their efficacy in a wide spectrum of dermatological conditions.

Masterclass 7. Energy based devices for facial enhancement

This Master class will be focused on the wide array of EBD techniques developed to improve the appearance of skin laxity, skin texture, volume loss next to superficial rhytides based on ultrasound (HIFU) and a diversity of radiofrequency devices and plasmogene techniques (Plexr, Plasmage). Recently these techniques are expanded with fractional modes, offer settings for laser-like ablation and coagulation with less down time, new applications and indications as well as a better prediction of the outcome.

Speakers will also address the differences in up to date technologies, discuss scientific proof, offer practical tips, show clinical results and enlighten the pro’s and con’s of all technologies. In this course the participant will gather all the needed information to decide which technique fit’s the practice, or, if not using these devices, knows what EBD for facial enhancement can offer.

Masterclass 8. Pigmented lesions and tattoo removal

In the second part of this mastercourse Dr Njoo will discuss the basic principles of laser removal of tattoos. Thereby addressing the differences between nanolasers and picolasers.  Possible results and side effects of laser removal of amateur, professional, cosmetic as well as traumatic tattoos will be shown as examples, providing the participant practical tools to manage their clients efficiently, safely and wisely.

Masterclass 9. Body contour shaping non-invasive technologies

This Master class will be focused on the wide array of EBD techniques developed to improve body contours in a non surgical manner. New developments will be clarified in the applications of

  • Radiofrequency
  • Magnetic pulsing
  • Focused and HIFU ultrasound
  • LFUS ultrasound
  • Cryolipolysis
  • Connective tissue massage incorporating laser and LED
  • Combinations of the above mentioned techniques

Speakers will also address the differences in up to date technologies, scientific proof, offer practical tips, show clinical results and enlighten the pro’s and con’s, as well as the limitations of all EBD technologies. In this course the participant will gather all the needed information to decide which technique fit’s their practice, or, if not using these devices, knows what EBD for contour shaping are state of the art today.

Masterclass 10. Scar treatment integrated approach

Following every skin lesion due to trauma, burn or surgery, the lesion heals by overlapping processes and phases during inflammation, proliferation and remodeling, ending with a beautiful, but to often, a hypertrophic scar. In this masterclass you will be inspired by the latest literature and learn where and when normal healing processes derail in scar hypertrophy and when and how it is ideal to interfere with them in order to prevent excessive scar formation.

Masterclass 11. Threadlift: different products and procedures

This master class deals with the application of bidirectional coned absorbable sutures for the correction of the gravity ageing signs of the face neck and eyebrow using a minimally invasive procedure. It will make the participants familiar with the indications of this treatment, patients’ selection, insertion technique, details of pre-op and post-op instructions and possible complications. The composition of the matterial, the local anaesthesia tips and tricks of the procedure, will be presented in every detail, including graphics videos and photos of each step aiming in achieving the best results possible out of this minimally invasive technique.

Masterclass 12. Facial Anatomy and interactive Dissection Course for Cosmetic Doctors

All topics relevant for minimal invasive procedures in the face will be reviewed.

The morning course will focus on a live demonstration of a fresh-frozen cadaver head, that is prepared the day before in order to show anatomic features, i.e. muscles, nerves, vessels, fat pads and ligaments. The group size will be limited to ensure that participant are able to observe in detail all items of facial anatomy they want to understand better.

After lunch an introduction will be given on the use of ultrasound in cosmetic dermatology both of normal facial anatomy and for the prevention and treatment of complications with injectable fillers.
